If you like hunks for the holidays, I invite you to take Etienne for a ride... a sleigh ride, that is! Etienne is an Alpha werewolf, the sexy eldest Robichaux brother of my Draicon werewolf novels.
In
Taken by the Alpha Wolf, which is a prequel to my Draicon series, Etienne hunts down his future mate to protect her from drug dealers, and to claim her at last in the flesh.
Taken is available on Amazon for only 99 cents.
Here's an excerpt: Copyright 2011 by Bonnie Vanak
“There she is.”
Crouched
down, Etienne Robichaux peered through the thick trees at his target. On a
narrow path cutting through thick brush of the Florida Everglades, the sleek
white wolf nosed through the bay head.
A thicket
of cocoplum, red bay and wax myrtle provided excellent coverage. Overhead the
March sun was brilliant and warm, no clouds in the sharp blue sky.
Perfect day
for an abduction.
Green
camouflage pants, an olive T-shirt and jungle boots protected his body against
branches and sharp sawgrass. Etienne ran a finger along the bandana covering
his light brown hair. Hunkered down beside him also in camouflage, his two
younger brothers studied the prey.
Three
Draicon werewolves on recon… for another Draicon wolf. The image would’ve
amused him, had the situation been less grim.
“You sure
that’s her?” Alexandre wondered.
“I know her
scent, could pick it up in a garbage chute.” He drew in a deep lungful of the delicate fragrance of fresh raindrops on
lilies cutting through the swamp’s more earthy smells.
Gabriel
shook his head. “She may fight you.”
“Doesn’t
matter. The intel said they could come after her at any time.” Etienne’s pulse raced.
Getting
caught in heavy crossfire during the Lebanon op had been nothing
compared to hearing that news. Hell he could take all the tight situations
threatening his ass when he’d been a U.S. Navy SEAL and retained his usual
calm, tight control. None of them compared to the gut-wrenching fear of losing
Cindy.
Before even
having her, so to speak.
“Her
father,” Alex began. “You warned him, tried to reason with him?”
Etienne
snorted. “Wouldn’t listen to me. Damnit, it was like talking with a rock. This
is the only way. I’m taking control.”
Alex looked
up, his lean face tight.
“Screw it, mon frere. Go for her,” Alex said,
growling.
Gabriel’s
eyes flashed amber, signaling the emergence of his wolf. “Do it.”

Sometimes the alpha heroes are too arrogant...to the point of being over the top. Makes me want to slap the back of his head and tell him to get over himself already!

I like the inner strength of the Alpha-- even if they so often need a strong woman to keep them in line!
modularmates(at)comcast(dot)net
I like that they are all alpha and I want to protect you. But I do not like when they are asses
I like alpha hero because he can leads and protect their heroine but sometimes i dont like because he is so arrogant, stubborn
What I dont like about alpha males is they tend to overdo things and wanna take charge of everything. Well, if you are one of those girls living in the medieval times you'll probably appreciate it. But think we modern gals are a tad too independent so it gets a little irritating when they go all alpha on us.
I love the bossiness, even when they are being jerks lol.

I have all the books Bonnie! Can't wait for your next one. Oh and I will take the gift card for amazon thanks! ;)
I often struggle with the fine line of arrogant-dominant-control they seem to need to hold over the heroine.

what you like or don't like about Alpha males
Likes - their ability to stand firm and protect what they see as important, willing to stand their ground.
Dislikes - "I am man you are weak mentality" some alphas get. Sometimes they can get TOO bossy.
LOL The Empath - neat especially since I'm writing a story with the heroine an empath.

Hi Bonnie! While I haven't read any of your newest releases, I know I have read at least one of your Egyptian Historicals. Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy of Empath!
I love all different types of heroes. I don't think I've ever read a book where I didn't like the hero!

I'm with Karen. I love a good, strong Alpha male, but there are times when I say to myself, "Self, if you were with this man and he said that to you, how would you react?" He'd have a black eye or would be wearing his food, or...there would be things happening. There would be things. LOL!
I love to read about alpha males .. but in real life NOT so much. Thank you for the hop giveaway!

I enjoy alpha males but they can be jerks sometimes. I enjoy when they are arrogant but their women knock them down.

I love an Alpha male!!! I love the idea of being pursued. Before I became an item with my husband (back in high school) I was dating both him and another boy. I wouldn't consider my husband an Alpha..he is more Beta..quieter, gentler, not so in your face but still intense when he wants to be. But the other boy..total Alpha. And he was so much fun to date. It was exciting! But not for the long term, he wanted to string me along and I wanted commitment. You can't make an Alpha do anything he doesn't want to do however..so I let him go. Which was for the best because my husband, my Beta, is all the man I need.

Love the excerpt. Can't wait to read it.

Love the protective instincts but could do without the excessive dominance.
Thanks for the giveaway.
ljberma01 (at) gmail (dot) com
I love how dominant and hard alpha males can be yet soft and gentle with their females.
taccb_1981@yahoo.com
I like their confidence, but I would get real tired of the over protectiveness. Might have to go ham on him for that one
sstogner1 at gmail dot com
I love alpha males as long as I don't have to live with them I think. I don't read many shifter paranormal books. But all the books on the blog hop look goooood

I like that Alpha males are strong, protective, take charge types, even though they can be overbearing at times, they mean well.
things I like about alpha heroes -- their strength, not just physical but emotional & mental, confidence (which can be sexy), their desire to care/protect those they care about or feel are in need, and of course, how well they fall for their lady ;)
gamistress66 (at) aol (dot) com
I love the super protective nature of alpha males, and confidence is sexy, but there's a fine line between that and cockiness which I hate. Thanks for the giveaway!
BookcaseLaura (at) gmail.com
I actually prefer my heroes a little beta... all that I-know-best-and-you-should-bend-to-my-will arrogance grates on me a bit :)
I love everything about an alpha from there stubbornness, tortured past and sarcasm to their fiercely protectiveness they have for those they care about.
vampiremistress2010(at)gmail(dot)com
I like for an Alpha male to be strong but able to realize that a woman can be as smart and strong as he is and, thus, be willing to to compromise and not always feel that he has to be the Boss and his word Law.

I love all your books
I love all of your books
I love all of your books
I love the possessiveness of alpha males. They protect what is theirs and no one is safe. I love a bad boy hero who falls hard for the one woman meant for him.
Ann(dot)sheiring(at)gmail(dot)com
Love the hot sexy alpha type that is easy to live and loyal Shihtzushappens@gmail.com
One drawback of Alpha men is that they think they know what's best and that drives me nuts in real life. In fiction though, it's okay.
cgnemesis [at] yahoo [dot] com
I'm not a fan of alpha males, they want all the control to themselves! I like the betas more!
readingromances.contactATgmailDOTcom
Alpha males can be a** holes sometimes. But it takes a woman who know her own mind to be just as controlling. thanks for hop!!
I love alpha males in my books! I like it even better when the heroine brings him to heel! lol. Thanks for the giveaway!
gatormaryd(at)yahoo(dot)com
Alpha males are great for fiction. lol fantasize all you want. Don't. Know if I could live with one daily.
Lisa B
I like their confidence and loyalty to their woman :)
thanks

I like their confidence. Bad thing: their arrogance!
I like reading stories with them as a character but I wouldn't want to be in a realationship with one.
davis7579@sbcglobal.net
I love that alpha's act so tough, but when it comes to a woman that they love they get all mushy.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I love that they are strong, protective & possessive but he mustn't be unreasonably so.
thumbelinda03@yahoo.com
I love that alphas take charge, dominate, and demand respect and that makes them all the more sexy.
ehaney578 at aol dot com
I love how Alpha males will stop at nothing to protect those who need protection and though they seem invincible, all it takes to bring them to their knees is the right female.
Adria

I like that an alpha male will do step up and take charge if need be (and well, sometimes even if the need doesn't be...;)) It's a good thing to have someone who isn't going to sit on his hands and whine ;)

I love alphas with a sense of humor, confidence, loyalty, courage, and the willingness to treat their woman as an equal. Thank you for the giveaway!
msromanticreads(at)gmail(dot)com
I like Alphas -- I love their confidence and their take-charge attitude. (But the Alpha hero must be able to take care of his heroine!)
i love alpha males. always in control and very dominant but putty in the hands
hezzaluv@yahoo.com
I love how alpha males are always in control and will do anything to protect the people they love.
rockchick531@gmail.com
Confidence and the willingness to deal with what ever happens when they forge ahead. Right or wrong they take action and responsiblity.
kathewv@yahoo.com
I love the take charge attitude and the ability to get things done. I don't even mind the arrogance of them as long as they are able ot show their vulerable side to.
oeamis(at)carolina(dot)rr(dot)com
Alpha men know what they want and when they want it, and when they fall in love it's forever.
I love the protectiveness & assuredness of an Alpha...he takes care of what he considers his, no matter what. And even though they might be arrogant, their female is the one person on earth who can temper and control that arrogance.
I am too stubborn/independent to want to live with an Alpha male-because I would be questioning everything he said. But I love to read about them in books.

I love the Alpha male's confidence, but sometimes his arrogance makes me want to give him a good, hard smack.
jenalang(at)live(dot)com
Confidence is good, arrogance is annoying (but goes with the territory)
I like that they are strong, loyal, & stubborn. Thanks for the giveaway.

Navy seal/werewolf?? Just...WOW!! Loving it!
Oh, yeah, Alpha, love that they are strong, confident and protective, but that they are able to 'give' when they find the one that they can't live without.
brbalways(at)yahoo(dot)com
I love everything about alpha males! Their control, dominance, loyalty, protectiveness, confidence, passion, and more all make them what they are. I love every minute of it!
Loved the excerpt! A wolf who is an ex-SEAL? That is right up my alley. ;)
Thank you for the giveaway!
I picked up my copy. Should these books be read in order?
trb0917 at gmail.com
Sometimes their arrogance and need to run the show is off-putting.
Their bossiness is a lot to put up with, but it makes that much sexier when you tame them. Thanks so much!
hschrock24112 at yahoo dot com
What I do like about alpha males is how protective and caring they can be with their heroine :)
I like their strength and honor and loyalty.
bacchus76 at myself dot com
I love alpha males that take charge of the situation. They always take care of their ladies.
smurfettev AT gmail DOT com
Mmm. I really like the whole package but that complete and utter determination to get the job done and protect the people they care about is really damn sexy.
Thanks :)

Love the excerpt. Looks like another book added to my TBR pile. Thanks
